Philosophy of Service We are committed to assist each church client accomplish their unique mission of service through the design and building of facilities that meet the growing needs of the congregation. We utilize the following points:
Team approach
Ministry oriented
Flexibility of services available
Variety of approaches to construction
Phasing and master planning of projects for affordability
Congregational involvement in process
Realistic cost projection
Lower then normal fees, more services
Fee payments in easy installments
Corporate Goals Our goal, as a team member, is to assist each church in accomplishing their stated goals. Buildings should not dictate ministry, rather the ministry of the church should influence and shape the facility.

The process should be an enjoyable experience, full of excitement and anticipation, not divisive, but a time of unity in the congregation. We have the experience, skills, and combination of services to make this goal a reality.

We believe people and ministry are more important than buildings. Above all else, we want to work with the client in determining God's direction. We believe these objectives set us apart from most other architects.

Pre-Design Service Packages

Prior to embarking on the design process, it is often expedient for the church to complete one or more of the services offered below. The intent of these services is to assist the leadership in establishing a specific and logical process for the church to develop the required building facilities.
Pre-Design Services Package A/E Technologies will bundle the group of services that best accommodate the needs of your church. This package approach allows the church to receive all needed services at a considerable discount in service fees. It also allows the church to commit to a substantially smaller contract package, initially, until a definitive direction can be determined. Once that direction has been firmly established and supported by the congregation, leadership can confidently move into the design process.
Step 1
Visionary Planning

We offer assistance to your leadership in determining specific direction for your long-term growth, helping you to discover your unique "mission," evaluate your current available resources, and establish a plan to enable you to reach that potential.

Discover the unique mission of your church

Evaluate existing resources of your leadership group

Establish a specific plan to reach your full potential

Feasibility Studies

Before the design process begins, many churches require a Feasibility Study.  This report is garnered from your church's information about attendance, the space you currently have, and its use. We collect detailed data about church programs, ministry needs and goals - both immediate and long-term. We then use this information combined with your church's growth ratio to give you an informed estimate regarding your future attendance and the space requirements you will need to meet this congregation level.  We offer an in-depth analysis and a written report of assessment. These studies will provide guidance to the church before the design process begins.

Demographic profiles for the church and community

Growth studies of church

Past statistics

Projection for future growth

Evaluate present finances

Financial capability studies

Forecast capital fund raising potential

determine debt service capability

Facilities and site evaluation

Space Planning Taking the adopted option as established in the Feasibility Studies and developing floor plan layouts and exterior views. General targets for space use as determined in the Feasibility Study are developed into specific assignments for use in the various functions.

Establish a detailed inventory of current space usage

Prepare a detailed written space plan for each level as established in the Feasibility Study

recap capacity goals for each function

determine best use of existing space

establish type and amount of new space needed (short and long term)

Prepare space plan drawings, arranging spaces in logical relationship to each other and planning proper pedestrian flow

Develop exterior elevation view of the proposed level

Master Planning

Develop the "footprint" of the space plan as developed above, and locate facilities on the site, showing existing, proposed, and long-range site development (buildings and parking) as a preliminary site plan drawing. These drawings are preliminary in nature and are intended as a guide for early planning and are subject to final drawings prepared by the civil engineer.

Show "footprint" of existing, proposed and future buildings and parking

Preliminary investigation of retention, drainage and utility requirements

Preliminary investigation of environmental issues connected with site

Preliminary investigation regarding zoning, setbacks and parking

Major Metropolitian Areas: Additional Planning and Zoning requirements beyond the normal services and plan costs may be required. A/E Tech can provide these services for an additional fee. Please contact our office for additional information and cost.

Step 2
Capital Funding A/E Technologies, Inc. will assist leadership in planning, organizing, and training for a capital funding campaign to increase the cash flow in current congregational giving for a specific building project.

Provide orientation manuals to all leaders

Provide assistance in selection of the funding team members

A/E Technologies can assist you in your fundraising needs with our Stewardship Program, a spiritual based financial guide for your churches building program. This training seminar and series of manuals is an invaluable tool in helping you to raise additional building funds over a 36-month period, equivalent to one year’s annual income. This program has a GUARANTEE TO RAISE AN AMOUNT (over a 36 month pledge period), EQUAL TO YOUR ANNUAL INCOME WITHOUT AFFECTING YOUR REGULAR TITHES AND OFFERINGS… if you do not succeed in receiving pledges over a three year campaign, equal to your annual income, you will owe nothing for this program. We are that sure of the success you will have.

Post Design Services

As important as the design process is, the real purpose is to complete structures that will effectively complement the church's ministries. With that in mind, A/E Technologies, Inc. has made available several additional services to ensure that turning your vision into reality is actually accomplished.

Step 4
Construction Options Each client church has unique factors that dictate which building delivery system should be used. A/E can assist in this process through two different construction options. We will present the strengths and weaknesses of each system and will assist the church in evaluating and selecting the best system for your project. We can also provide the church access to companies that are competent in each of these systems.

Construction Management - The Owner, Construction Manager and Architect work together during all phases of the project. Experience and resources can be utilized during all phases of the project to provide the most economical building consistent with the owner's requirements. The owner accepts most of the risk on the project, but the contractors and designers have ethical and reputation standards. The architect may be the construction manager. As well the construction manager can be the architect. This method is the most cost effective way to build.

Design Build - The design build method is a single source contact for the owner. The owner contracts with the design build firm for all services and in most cases the whole package. The disadvantage to the owner is not knowing what they are getting prior to signing the contract or what the project is going to look like. The architect used by the design/builder represents the design/ builder not the owner, therefore the owner has no one to look out for his interest. Design Builders cannot give a good dollar value for all the accounts because he has to make a certain amount of profit and overhead on each account. This method is most expensive to owners in some cases. There is no volunteer labor from within the church allowed in most cases.

Update Evaluation Upon completion of your project, a dialogue is helpful to determine the continued validity of the vision and long-range plan for your church. We will help you in evaluating your funding and the fulfillment of the vision you have for your church. We have developed a number of evaluation tools to assist the church in determining if the church is tracking predictably toward the Master Plan or if corrective measures need to be undertaken. We also suggest that the Capital Funding Program be evaluated at appropriate intervals throughout the pledge period to monitor results and incorporate new giving units. In addition, we have a follow-up evaluation form - "report card," that we encourage each client church to complete, thus allowing A/E to improve our level of service to each church.

A/E Technologies, Inc. is a firm that is focused on the design of church-related facilities.  This has allowed us to develop expertise in the whole process of church-related expansion. We also realize that a church that is embarking upon a building program will require services and products beyond our scope of expertise.  Having assisted hundreds of churches over more than twenty years, we have developed confidence in many product supply companies.  We readily share this with you to assist your church in your project.
Network Related Services Very often, A/E can make suggestions and initiate contacts on behalf of the client for services that might be required, but are not a part of our services package. This approach removes the search and coordination challenge from the shoulders of the client, while maintaining the lowest possible cost by allowing the client to deal directly with the specific service, rather than paying additional layers of costs generated by having the architect directly responsible for sub-contracting the required service. NOTE: A/E can assist the church in evaluating any prospective site.
